despite和although区别是什么

　　一、中文意思不同

　　1、despite作为介词，有即使;尽管;尽管(自己)不愿意等含义。

　　例句：She was good at physics despite the fact that she found it boring.

　　尽管她认为物理枯燥无味，她却学得很好。

　　He had to laugh despite himself.

　　他不想笑，但还是忍不住笑了出来。

　　2、although作为连词，有虽然;尽管;即使;不过;然而等含义。

　　例句：Although the sun was shining it wasn't very warm.

　　尽管太阳高照，却不很暖和。

　　I felt he was wrong, although I didn't say so at the time.

　　我觉得他错了，不过我当时没有说出来。

　　二、用法不同

　　1、despite：固定搭配有in despite of、despite of，表示不管、尽管，但是使用不普遍，从语气上看，despite比in spite of要轻。

　　2、although：常用于引导陈述语气的让步状语从句，且引导的句子常指事实，而不指设想。

　　三、侧重点不同

　　1、despite：后面只能加名词性短语或代词。

　　2、although：通常用在句首或句中。
